Whether you are a new employer hiring your first employee or an existing employer hiring a new employee who will perform work in another state, you will need to complete the appropriate registrations with federal and/or state and local entities to ensure you are in compliance and can collect and pay unemployment and any applicable state withholding taxes when processing payrolls. Below is a quick reference grid with links to help you get started.
